CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, with the theme of Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of The Founding of the People's Republic of China, Chongqing Art Museum Print Works Exhibition and Chongqing Art Museum Oil Paintings and Watercolor (Powder) Paintings Exhibition were held in Chongqing Art Museum. There were 80 prints, and more than 20 oil paintings and watercolor (pink) paintings displayed in the exhibition, most of which were reflection of urban construction and human customs of Chongqing expressed by local artists, including the masterpieces of Li Shaoyan, Xia Peiyao and other famous artists.

Chongqing Art Museum has collected more than 1200 art works, mainly including traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking and sculpture, of which the most are printmaking, more than 800.

There were masterpieces of famous artists such as Li Shaoyan, Wang Qi, Niu Wen, Zhu Xuanxian, Lin Jun, and Dai Daquan. The Year of Thirty, created by Peng Wei which won the gold medal of the Twelfth National Exhibition of Fine Arts & Exhibition of Nominated Works for Chinese Fine Art Awards, Creative Awards also appeared at the exhibition.

Qijiang Farmers' Prints and Yongchuan Watermark Prints were also displayed in the print exhibition. Different from Qijiang Farmers' Prints with gorgeous colors and exaggerated shapes, Yongchuan Watermark Prints were light, elegant and soft in color, with the charm of some traditional Chinese paintings. Yongchuan Watermarking Prints such as Spring Mulberry and Streams brought visitors back to the rural life of the 1980s, with fresh and distant artistic conception.

Yongchuan Watermark Prints used to be a local mass art brand in the 1980s. While collecting these works, it also collected a precious art history. "From this history, visitors can feel the vision of watermark print painters for a better life at the beginning of the reform and opening up."

In order to keep the collection well, Chongqing Art Museum has built a constant temperature and humidity warehouse. In the future, it will continue to hold exhibitions of collected works, and make the exhibits exchange and display in many art museums by means of borrowing exhibitions, so that more visitors can feel the flavor of times through Chongqing artists' paintings.
