The 175-meter experimental water storage of the Three Gorges Reservoir in 2019 was officially launched at 0 o'clock on September 10, which was also the 12th 175-meter experimental water storage of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

According to experts, the reason for storing water in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area at the end of the flood season of the Yangtze River was that the amount of water in the Yangtze River was large enough to fill the reservoir capacity of the Three Gorges. In the next season, the water in the Yangtze River was not enough to store water. In previous season, the sediment concentration in the Yangtze River would be relatively large, which would make the reservoir silted up more easily.
