The simple bookshelves that can be seen everywhere in the courtyard refreshed the farmyard. This cultural place, which once attracted many villagers to visit, gradually became less "abrupt".

There were many love stories about “yard”. Huang Xiuquan, who lived in Shuangbei Street, Shapingba District, was a retired employee of Jialing Factory. Her husband, Chen Xingjun, lost his left lower limb in a car accident. The happy family had less laughter but more pain, and her husband was depressed for a time.

In order to allow her husband, who could not walk outside, to feel the smell of the outdoors, Huang Xiuquan cleared a small plot of land in front of her house and planted flowers and grass. The couple set up a "Tonglinniao Courtyard", which meant they were birds in the same forest who would never leave each other even in a disaster.

The old people also had their own romance. Liu Shengmei and his wife, from Rongchang District, repaired branches, cut leaves, watered and fertilized the plants, creating a "green environment" by themselves.
