CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 5, the Longzhouwan Tunnel Project in Banan District, which attracted much attention, was officially completed and put into use. As a key traffic facility project of Banan Quality Improvement Action Plan, the completion and opening of the tunnel formed an east-west trunk road connecting the two wings of Tongluo Mountain in the southernmost part of Chongqing, and opened up the key node of the southward expansion of the urban area.

The Longzhouwan Tunnel Project is an important node project of the five horizontal lines of the main urban expressway. It runs through Yunan Avenue from west to east, passes through the Tongluo Mountain with a tunnel, and establishes an interchange with the Chongqing-Qianjiang Expressway, and stops at the Dongcheng Avenue of Nanpeng Logistics Base in the east. The total length of the main line of the project is 8000 meters, including 3 tunnels, namely 925 meters of Longzhouwan Tunnel, 1785 meters of Xinyu Tunnel and 1140 meters of Nanpeng Tunnel. There are 4 overpasses, namely Longzhouwan Overpass, Honglu Overpass, Jieshi Overpass and Gongping Overpass. In addition, there are Longzhouwan Bridge and Longyuan Underground Passage.

According to a person in charge of Banan District, the urban area of Banan in the past was limited by the Yangtze River in the west, Tongluo Mountain in the East and Yunzhuan Mountain in the south. It can only be developed on the long and narrow plot between the Yangtze River and Tongluo Mountain, and finally formed a north-south continuous development urban pattern, including Yudong, Longzhouwan, Huaxi and Lijiatuo.

In the future, the drive distance from Longzhouwan, Bananto Nanpeng Logistics Base will be shortened from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. It will only take you about 15 minutes to drive from Yudong to Chayuan. (Translated by Luo Juan, Fathom Language Limited)
