CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, an Indonesian mandrill arrived at Jiangbei International Airport after quarantine inspection at Beijing Airport. After on-site quarantine and anti-epidemic disinfection, the staff of Chongqing Customs Administration "escort" it to the quarantine area designated by Chongqing Zoo for 30-day quarantine. Mandrill is the largest monkey in the world, originating from Cameroon, Gabon, Congo and other countries in central and western Africa. It is a protected animal in Appendix I, which is equivalent to the first-class protected animal in China. Male and female mandrills vary greatly, and adult males have a "colorful" face, like facial makeup in opera, which is highly ornamental. It is also the first time for Chongqing to introduce mandrill.
