BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of over 120 colored ink paintings of south China's scenery opened at the gallery of the China Academy of Painting Monday.

The paintings were created by renowned Chinese artist Liang Lizhi, showcasing his nostalgia for his hometown and understanding of nature.

Born in east China's Jiangsu Province, Liang started his sketching tour in the towns and countryside of southern China in the late 1990s, and he has held painting exhibitions in Shandong and Henan provinces.

The exhibition will last until Nov. 24.
