CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Chengdu － Chongqing Railway, the first railway independently built by the People’s Republic of China, is about to usher in its "new life". On November 18, the start-up activity of the reconstruction project of Chongqing Railway Station － Jiangjin Section of Chengdu － Chongqing Railway was held in Huangjueping, Jiulongpo District, marking the start-up of the reconstruction project of Chongqing Railway Station － Jiangjin Section of Chengdu － Chongqing Railway.

According to the person in charge of Chongqing Railway Group, the total construction period of the reconstruction project of Chongqing Railway Station － Jiangjin Section of Chengdu － Chongqing Railway is about to be 3 years, and it is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2022. On the basis of retaining the existing line as a whole, the reconstruction project will carry out the expansion and reconstruction of the additional second line to form double line transportation. While inheriting the historical context, the transportation function should be strengthened.

The reconstruction project also fully developed the tourism resources along the line and combined with the "two rivers and four banks" renovation, so as to build the Chongqing Railway Station－ Jiangjin Section of Chengdu － Chongqing Railway into a riverside tourism view route of "one station, one landscape with different characteristics", adding a beautiful riverside scenery to Chongqing.

After the completion of the reconstruction project, the Chongqing Railway Station － Jiangjin Section of Chengdu － Chongqing Railway will form a expressway from Jiangjin District to the main urban area of Chongqing, which only takes about 1 hour from Jiangjin to Caiyuanba.

In the future, the experience of passing "through" the history and modern on the Chengdu － Chongqing Railway, will become a new name card of Chongqing tourism.
