CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, seven Chongqing policemen who went to Italy on behalf of Chinese public security organs to carry out 2019 Sino-Italian police joint patrol returned with high praise after finishing the task successfully.

From November 5 to 23, the patrol police team for 2019 Sino-Italian police joint patrol established under the organization of Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, on behalf of Chinese pubic security organs, went to Italy to carry out the Sino-Italian police joint patrol work for the fourth time. The 10 policemen carried out joint patrols with Italian local police in 45 central urban districts, scenic spots and Chinese communities in 4 cities, including Roma, Milan, Turin and Padua of Italy.

Speaking of this experience, Zhang Li, the leader of the joint patrol team, was most impressed by the sense of pride of Chinese tourists and overseas Chinese developed because of the presence of Chinese police. “When Chinese tourists and local Chinese saw us in Italy, they were firstly astonished and then pleasantly surprised, and then asked for taking group photos,” said Zhang Li. They encountered more than a dozen groups of Chinese tourists asking for photos at most a day.

During the joint patrol, Italian police also specially set up Chinese alarm call, with Chinese police assisted in receiving and handling the alarm, so as to timely handling various situations related to the safety of Chinese tourists.

“In order to better protect the benefits of overseas Chinese, we also went to Chinese communities in Italy to know about local security situation and their demands for security.” The only policewoman in the joint patrol team told the reporter.

During the joint patrol, Chinese police cooperated with Italian police on following up and handling 35 calls for help, carrying out 12 safety propaganda and education activities in Chinese communities and 2 special lectures for Chinese students and overseas students. The team members also went to many Chinese-funded and Chongqing enterprises to coordinate the building of police-enterprise security liaison bridge and won high praise from Italian fellows, local Chinese and Chinese tourists in Italy.
