HOHHOT, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has exported 7.485 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to Mongolia through Ganqmod port in the first 10 months, according to data from Ured Customs.

The trade volume of the electricity is 4.68 billion yuan (about 662 million U.S. dollars) during the same period.

This is the fifth consecutive year that exports of electricity via the port exceeded 1 billion kWh.

Since November 2012, Inner Mongolia Guohe Electric Power Co., Ltd. has been transmitting electricity via Ganqmod to Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia, one of the largest copper mines in the world, for mining development.

The Ured Customs have simplified customs clearance procedures and improved workflow to better facilitate bilateral energy cooperation.
