CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- One of the ten public space nodes of “two rivers and four banks” - the design scheme of Yabadong Wetland Park in Nanbin Road has been completed recently, and expected to start construction before the Spring Festival in 2020. What kind of riverside leisure experience will it bring to the public after the completion of the park? On December 4, the relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Municipal Housing and Urban-rural Development Commission disclosed to Chongqing Daily that the Yabadong Wetland Park project will be built into a demonstration site of the Yangtze River beach ecological culture and Chongqing river bank ecological recreation.

The Yabadong Wetland Park, located in the middle of the south bank of the Yangtze River, starts from Egongyan Bridge, ends at the intersection of Danlong Road and Ertang Street, and faces Jiulong Bund across the river, with a total length of 3.8km. It is one of the areas with the richest hydrological coastline and the most active river beach activities in Chongqing.

According to the introduction of the Housing and Urban-rural Construction Committee of Nan'an District, the south bank of the Yangtze River contains six types of hydrological and geomorphic units, including Hao, Tuo (a small bay in a river), Qi, beach, Zhou and Hekou. Yabadong Area includes three types, including Hao, Tan and Tuo, and has rich natural ecological elements, such as rocky, wetland and wildflower grass. It is a typical representative of the ecological river beach in the main urban areas of Chongqing. Yabadong Area is an important bearing place for Chongqing's river beach memory, carrying recreational activities such as river fishing, camping, water playing and beach releasing. Therefore, based on the concept of ecological priority and people-oriented, this design plan proposes to build the park into a demonstration site of the Yangtze River beach ecological culture and Chongqing river bank ecological recreation, so as to provide citizens with a variety of riverside leisure experience.
