BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- "Franz Kafka," a book introducing renowned novelist Franz Kafka's life was recently published by the Beijing-based CITIC Press Group, the China Culture Daily reported.

With rich illustrations, the book was written by a Czech expert Radek Maly, whose intention is to give readers a deeper understanding of what Kafka had gone through.

Kafka, a Jewish writer who lived in Prague in the early 20th century, is the author of "The Metamorphosis" and "Der Prozess."

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the Czech Republic.
