Line 1 is expected to be opened by the end of 2020

Line 1 starts at Chaotianmen Station and ends at Jiandingpo Station. There are a total of 24 stations on the main line of Line 1 (Chaotianmen － Jiandingpo). Chaotianmen Station has not been open yet.

In the bidding announcement of the “Chongqing Rail Transit Line 1 (Chaotianmen to Jiandingpo) Metro Line Professional Outsourcing Maintenance Project” issued by Chongqing Rail Transit Group, the reporter saw that the “service period” of the bidding announcement revealed Chaotianmen － Xiaoshizi’s opening news, that was, “Since Chaotianmen － Xiaoshizi Section has not been opened yet, it is expected to open at the end of 2020. The actual implementation time of this section of contract shall prevail.” Xiaoshizi Station is expected to be opened at the end of 2020, and Chaotianmen Station will be officially put into operation in the same period. Line 1 will be opened to traffic from Chaotianmen to Jiandingpo.

The Jiandingpo to Bishan Section is expected to be opened by the end of this month

At present, the joint adjustment and trial work of Jiandingpo Station of Metro Line 1 to Bishan Station of Suburban Railway (extension line) has been basically completed, and it is expected to conduct trial operation at the end of this month.

The total length of the section is 5.6 kilometers, with one station and one vehicle section. After being opened to traffic, it only takes 5 minutes from Bishan to Daxuecheng and only half an hour to main business districts of Chongqing.

In 2022, Chongqing’s operating and under construction lines will exceed 850km

At present, Chongqing’s rail transit mileage has reached 313 kilometers. The average daily passenger flow is more than 3 million times, and the maximum daily passenger flow is 3.739 million times.

According to the plan, Haixialu － Erlang Section of Loop Line is also expected to be opened to traffic by the end of this year. After opening to traffic, it will be put into operation with the northeast half ring of the Loop Line opened for trial operation at the end of last year (Chongqing Library － Chongqingbei Railway Station South Square － Haixialu).
