CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the future, it would be more convenient for the public to transfer to a bus at rail transit stations. According to Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group and Chongqing City Integrated Transportation Hub Group, a “seamless” rail-to-bus transfer network would be constructed in urban areas before June 30, 2021, covering 118 transformed or new bus stops, 16 new rail-to-bus original and terminal stations and 11 new pedestrian facilities connecting to the rail transit stations. At that time, the proportion of rail-to-bus transfer stations within 50m will increase to 68%, which is roughly doubled from the current 38%.

It is said that the rail transit line in urban areas of Chongqing is 313km long, with 172 stations open to traffic. And there are 660 ground bus lines, with 361 bus transfer stations.

According to Chongqing City Integrated Transportation Hub Group, for the convenience of the public, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group, in consideration of bus operation demand, made site surveys and field researches to 172 rail transit stations in cooperation with traffic control departments of all urban districts. Now, they have finished the optimized design schemes of 118 bus stops nearby the Jiazhoulu, Grand Theater, Central Park and Danzishi stations, trying to make the bus stations as close to the rail transit entrances as possible to provide a good transfer service for passengers.

These 118 bus stops include Bijin station of Line 3, Ranjiaba station, a transfer station to Line 5, Line 6 and Loop Line, Huahuiyuan station of Line 6, Longtousi station of Line 10 and Haixialu station of Loop Line.

Now, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group is planning in advance the construction and planning of rail-to-bus transfer, aiming to keep the transfer distance from rail transit station under planning and construction to bus station within 50m for synchronized planning, synchronized implementation and synchronized launch in order to realize seamless transfer.
