JAKARTA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Athletics Association has planned to send at least three athletes to the 2020 Olympic Game in Tokyo, Japan, the association's training manager Mustara Musa said on Monday.
The country's 20-year-old sprinter Lalu Muhammad Zohri has already got the ticket to the quadrennial event after finishing third in the men's 100 meters at the 2019 Golden Grand Prix Osaka with a time of 10.03 seconds, Musa noted.
"We are giving the opportunities to two other athletes," he said, referring to the men's long jumper Sapwaturahman Sanapiah and the women's 100m hurdler Emilia Nova.
Both athletes defended their titles at the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines.
The duo will be sent to undergo Olympic qualifications, according to Musa.
"We support them to improve their achievements and capabilities," he said.
For Emilia, the manager said, she will undergo exercises at a training camp in the United States where many world's top hurdlers are based and many hurdle events to be staged.
