CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 8:00 on January 1, the first day of the 2020, Chongqing People’s Square held a grand ceremony to raise the national flag. More than 400 teachers and students from Jiulongpo High-tech Yucai School, together with the citizens who came spontaneously, witnessed this solemn and sacred moment in the ceremony of raising the national flag on New Year’s Day.

After 7 o’clock in the morning, it was still dark and the outdoor temperature was only 5℃. But many citizens and students still got up early in the morning and waited in the square to watch the flag-raising ceremony.

At 7:40, the military band played the music of Singing to the Motherland. The national flag guard team showed up in the square with a uniform step and bravely escorted the national flag to the flag-raising stage. The teenagers and the masses at the scene sang Singing to the Motherland with the performance of the military band.

At 7:55, with the flag-raising ceremony approaching, the national flag guard team began to march towards the flag-raising stage in the square with a unified step.

At 8 o’clock, the majestic national anthem of The People’s Republic of China sounded. The crowd sang the national anthem in unison. The students raised their right hands to salute the national flag.
