CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A reporter of Chongqing Evening News learned from the official website of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that, after relevant assessments and public announcements, 22 tourist attractions have met the National 5A-Level scenic area standard and rated as National 5A-Level Tourist Attractions, including Chongqing Pengshui Ayi River Scenic Area.

The Ayi River is located in Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County. Since Miao people called the kind, beautiful and intelligent woman “Jiao Ayi”, Ayi River got its name. The scenic area integrates mountains, water, forests, springs, and gorges, and is divided into 3 sightseeing areas (canyon sightseeing area, walking tour sightseeing area, bamboo raft sightseeing area), 2 leisure resorts (Reception Center Folk Style Leisure Resort , Niujiaozhai Ethnic Customs Leisure Resort Area), 2 experience areas (Rafting Experience Area, Outdoor Experience Area), 1 passion rafting area, 1 characteristic goods service area on foot, beautiful flowers and ancient trees, ancient vines. Swing on the Zhoujiang River, you can enjoy the rapids and turbulent waves. Overnight in the cottage, you can taste the delicious dishes of the Miao and experience the ethnic flavor. According to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism, up to now, there are nine 5A-level scenic areas in our city, including Dazu Rock Carving Scenic Area, Wushan Small Three Gorges — Mini Three Gorges, Wulong Karst Tourist Area (Tiansheng Sanqiao, Fairy Mountain, Furong Cave), Youyang Taohuayuan Scenic Area, Wansheng Black Valley Scenic Area, Nanchuan Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area, Jiangjin Simian Mountain Scenic Area, Yunyang Longgang Scenic Area and Pengshui County Ayi River Scenic Area.
