During the 40-day Spring Festival, Chongqing Airport is expected to take off and land 38,600 flights and welcome 5.9 million passengers. The Civil Aviation Administration of China approved the peak hour capacity increase of Chongqing Jiangbei Airport to 54 flights in November 2019. Chongqing Jiangbei Airport took advantage of the peak hour capacity increase opportunity to coordinate civil aviation authorities and airlines to organize the capacity of the Spring Festival. The number of takeoffs and landings will be 38,600, up 6% from last year, and the passenger throughput will be guaranteed at 5.9 million, up 9% from last year.

In terms of domestic routes, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport has opened new routes to Beijing Daxing, Moutai, Zunyi, Wushan, Kashgar, Khotan, Tongren, etc., and has increased its routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Jinan, Qingdao, Haikou, Sanya, Wuxi, etc. While Chongqing Jiangbei Airport has increased its routes to Qianjiang to 23 classes a week. In terms of international routes, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport has opened new international routes to Budapest, Okinawa, Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Kathmandu, Yangon, etc., and densified routes to Tokyo, Osaka, etc. In addition, it has opened or resumed tourist charter flights to Qinglai, Koh Samui, Krabi, Phu Quoc Island, etc., to meet the travel needs of passengers.

In terms of ground transportation support, in order to ensure sufficient ground transportation capacity, prevent passengers from staying during Spring Festival travel rush, and improve the convenience of air-ground transportation, Chongqing Airport Comprehensive Transportation Hub took measures to comprehensively strengthen the ground transportation capacity connection.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, there is a large passenger flow and high flight load factor. In order to reduce the queuing time, passengers with checked baggage are recommended to go to 3J Check-in island and handle through 32 self-service checked baggage systems.
