HARBIN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Authorities have listed an ancient cultural heritage in northeast China among the country's top archaeological discoveries of 2019.

The Honghe Ruins site is in the city of Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province. It contained major cultural relics from the Neolithic Period, the Bronze Age, the Liao and Jin dynasties (907-1234), the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Archaeologists have made six excavations at the site. In 2014, they found four sites of ruins from the Neolithic Period, with the longest 14 meters in length.

Six archaeological projects were selected as "China's 2019 archaeological discoveries of the year" by the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
