The person in charge of Shangqingsi Sub-district, Yuzhong District told the reporter of Chongqing Evening News that the 1,200-meter Zengjiayan Cliff Footpath Phase I has been put into use, and the relevant guiding function and culture building will be further improved before and after the Spring Festival. At that time, the footpath will not only become a new place for citizens to go for fitness and leisure, but also directly connect Zhongshan 4th Road upward and Jiabin Road downward to facilitate the travel of nearby residents.

Suspended footpath connects residential buildings

Zengjiayan Cliff Footpath is located in Zengjiayan Community, which echoes with Jialingqiao Xicun across Jialingqiao Road, and it is the only way for nearby residents to travel.

The original stone steps are used for the part of the footpath. In the middle part of the footpath, near Jiabin Road, it used to be a cliff. Now, it is connected with another residential building through a 120-meter suspended footpath. In addition, a 5-story revolving staircase has been built at the hanging plank road, which can directly reach Jiabin Road. Standing on the suspended plank road, you can see the beautiful scenery of Jialing River and Beibin Road.

“The footpath is very interesting. The hanging footpath also leaves space for the trees, and the view is very beautiful.” Zhang Ting, a tourist taking photos on the footpath, said that when she saw the suspended footpath in Jiabin Road, she climbed up the revolving stairs. Unexpectedly, there was a surprise.

“The original length of Zengjiayan Cliff Footpath was only 300 meters.” According to the relevant person in charge of Shangqingsi Sub-district, due to the limitations of the terrain, the original footpath has been built with 4 dead-end roads, causing inconvenience to the surrounding residents. After the broken road on the mountain was opened, more time was saved for the residents to go out.

To create a new landmark in Yuzhong District

On the footpath, there is not only a new hanging plank road, but also a steel-structured footpath behind the People's Primary School, so that nearby residents can easily reach People's Primary School, Zhongshan 4th Road and other places. According to the relevant person in charge of Shangqingsi Sub-district, during the construction, they scientifically and reasonably connected the cut-off roads at Zhongshan 4th Road, Jiadong Village, Qiujing Middle School, and Chongqing Cultural and Printing Center, and added elements for the integration and development of culture and tourism, implemented lighting and greening and beautification, and create a new landmark suitable for traveling in Yuzhong.

The total length of Zengjiayan Cliff Footpath is 1,800 meters. The project is implemented in two phases. The first phase is from Jiadongcun to Qiujing Middle School, with a length of about 1.2km (including more than 120 meters of suspended plank road; the second phase is from Qiujing Middle School to Chongqing Cultural and Printing Center, with a length of 0.6km, which is expected to be completed in 2021.
