Heavy rains forecast in south China
BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains are forecasted in parts of south China over the next three days, China's meteorological authority said Monday.
Parts of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and provinces of Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong will see heavy rainfalls from Tuesday to Thursday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said in a statement.
Guangdong and Guangxi will even suffer severe convection weather including thunderstorms and hailstorms, according to the NMC.
From Friday to Sunday, a wave of cold air will chill central and eastern parts of China, lowering temperatures and bringing strong winds, rain and snow.
The NMC warned potential geological hazards and suggested caution against heavy rains amid the Spring Festival travel rush.
