All bus lines and 8 rail transit lines in Chongqing resumed normal operation

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On February 10, at the news conference of the novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control in Chongqing, Chen Yongzhong, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Traffic Bureau, introduced the traffic situation on the first day of resuming work.

According to Chen Yongzhong, as of 12:00 on January 10, the ground public transportation in the main urban area, namely public buses, has transported 154,000 people, up 59% from last day; rail transit has transported 59,000 people, up 49.7% from last day; taxi has carried 22,000 vehicles, up 17%.

In terms of buses, all bus lines have been put into normal operation, with 7,156 buses, up 135% from last day. The average number of passengers in the carriage is 4.6 persons, which is not crowded even in rush hours. We have met the passenger’s travel demand for buses through the parallel departure and precise scheduling of the first bus.

In terms of rail transit, all eight lines have resumed normal operation. Except for the trial operation of Line 4, the opening and closing hours of the other lines have been restored to 6:30 am to 22:30 pm. The shortest departure interval of Line 3 during the morning peak was shortened to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. “In the morning, 247 rail transit trains were put into operation, and two hot-standby trains were reserved for each line, with an average of 38 passengers per train. Both rail transit coaches and stations are not crowded.”

In terms of taxis, taxis in the main urban area have resumed normal operations. According to the characteristics of citizens’ travel, during the morning rush hours, taxis are mainly at residential areas, transportation hubs and other places, and they are cruising on the street . As a supplement, it is easier for citizens to take a taxi.

In addition, while ensuring the needs of public transportation, the transportation department has also carefully controlled the epidemic situation, strictly implemented disinfection and ventilation of vehicles, stations, and cleanliness, and strictly enforced the employment of drivers and other employees and the general public by wearing masks, strictly implement rail transit passengers to measure their body temperature before entering the station.
