CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Waving goodbye before leaving to Hubei, the firm vision when embarking on the journey, and the grand scene of building Huoshenshan Hospital... A sudden disaster caused countless artists to drop the glass of blessing for the Chinese New Year and pick up the paintbrush to enter the battle. In the past few days, Chongqing’s art workers have created a series of art works with the theme of “New Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control” as the theme. They are set in moving moments, inspiring people who fight against the epidemic.

On January 31, Chongqing Fine Arts Association issued the notice of urgent draft solicitation in accordance with the requirements of China Association of fine arts and the Party Group of Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art circles. It called on the city’s fine arts workers to pick up their paintbrushes, publicize the knowledge of prevention and control, eulogize the most beautiful Chinese people in the front line, and contribute to the prevention and control of the epidemic.

After the notice was issued, it received the positive response from art workers of the city. Including Pang Maokun, vice chairman of China Fine Arts Association and chairman of Chongqing Fine Arts Association, Deng Jianqiang, Liu Shuguang, Xu Shihu, Cui Yi, famous painters such as Weng Kaixuan, Dai Zhengsheng, Zhang Chunxin, Li Yili, Qi Xiaoyong, Zhao Xiaodong, and Tan Shiming, as well as many teachers, students and grass-roots artists from colleges and universities across the city, they have taken action and created nearly one thousand works of “love with heart”.

Chongqing Daily selected and published some works of art to cheer on the heroes and citizens fighting against the epidemic. (Translated by Luo Juan, Fathom Language Limited)
