CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When it comes to people in close contact with novel coronavirus pneumonia confirmed patients, centralized isolated medical observation is one of the effective ways to cut off the potential chain of infection. On February 12, Chongqing Daily learned from Chongqing Municipal Health Commission that at present, Chongqing has established 95 centralized isolated medical observation points, with a total of 5,754 rooms, which can basically meet the quarantine demands in the city.

The first novel coronavirus pneumonia case in Chongqing was confirmed in January 21st. The data shows that by January 31, the number of confirmed cases infected in Chongqing exceeded the number of imported cases, and the infection caused by family gathering also showed an upward trend.

“It reminds us that if close contacts do not achieve effective protection at home, they will cause mutual infection among family members.” Chongqing Municipal Health Commission introduced that in this case, some districts and counties initiated centralized isolation.

On February 8, Chongqing officially launched a centralized isolation measure for all new close contacts. This measure also applies to close contacts who have no permanent residence in Chongqing, do not have the conditions for home isolation, and those who have previously taken home isolation measures but cannot consciously manage them.

These 95 centralized isolated medical observation points are mostly transformed from hotels far away from residential areas, with good living conditions, including television and hot water. During the isolation, the observation subject was one person with one room for free. There was a dedicated 24-hour service, providing humane care such as psychological counseling.
