CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, Shapingba District received 20 barrels of 84 liquid disinfectant donated by Chongqing University, which were purchased by the Student Union of Chongqing University with the money from charity sale. Chongqing University students hope they can make a contribution to the epidemic prevention and control of Shapingba District.

“The novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) brings not only pain, but also unity and cohesion. In face of the disaster, contemporary students need to show more sense of responsibility and do something meaningful,” said a responsible person of the Student Union. After the outbreak of the NCP, Chongqing University students are very concerned about the epidemic prevention and control. After discussion, the Student Union decided to hold a charity sale to provide a donation channel for students. They hold a charity sale in the WeChat shop to sell a series of Chongqing University cultural and creative products, such as cultural T-shirts, bucket hats, canvas bags and New Year calendars originally designed by the Student Union of Chongqing University. 

The charity sale activity has been well welcomed by the students since the launch on February 4, and have received 3,657.24 yuan in total from 57 students by far. While carrying out the charity sale activity, the Student Union of Chongqing University also contacted with many parties and purchased a batch of disinfectant with the money, then donated to Shapingba District People’s Government, which would be allocated by related departments to support the front-line epidemic prevention and control.
