CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- For Chongqing people, xiaomian (noodles) are as essential as hotpot. At the end of February, the Chongqing Xiaomian Association and Eleme jointly called for Chongqing Xiaomian to resume operation online in advance, and many restaurants resumed operation through takeout since dinners could not eat at the restaurants. At the beginning of March, Chongqing Municipal Commercial Committee, together with Eleme, and called on Chongqing Xiaomian to actively embrace digital upgrades and try out takeout mode in order to solve Chongqing people’s lovesickness for Xiaomian.

“Noodles takeout”: fun for cooking at home

“The sales of uncooked noodles takeout launched in early March have been very good during this period,” said Master Liao, the owner of the 9th Street shop, “Qinyun Laotaipo Tantanmian” located in Yanghe Road, Jiangbei District. “We packed the seasonings and then installed the uncooked noodles and vegetable leaves separately. After the consumer placed an order, the rider will send the takeout to their home. Consumers can cook the noodles themselves, which is as good as what we cooked in our shop.”

According to Master Liao, after the launch of uncooked noodles takeout at the beginning of this month, sales have increased significantly. In addition, during the epidemic, the shop also paid special attention to the hygiene of the distribution. When each takeout rider came to the shop to pick up the meal, they would disinfect and measure the temperature of the man to ensure safety.

According to the data of Eleme, in the first week of resuming operation, there were 1374 Chongqing Xiaomian orders. In the third week, there were 5625 orders, and the order quantity increased by a full fourfold. In addition to the increase of ordinary orders, the growth rate of luxury Chongqing Xiaomian was also obvious. Compared with the ordinary weekly orders in December, the order of “adding one fried egg” increased by 3.1 times, while the orders of “adding one stewed egg / tea egg” increased by 2.2 times.
