Eight countries newly rated as hard-hit countries by Chongqing and the total number increased to 24

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, Chongqing Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference on the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus pneumonia) Epidemic Prevention and Control. The relevant information was reported by the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and the General Office of the Chongqing COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Work Leading Group.

Experts pointed out that although the situation of epidemic prevention and control in our city continued to be improved, with the spread of overseas epidemic, the risk of imported case increased. At the same time, with the promotion of resumption of work and production, the risk of epidemic transmission caused by the increase of personnel flow and aggregation still exists.

According to the General Office of the Chongqing COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Work Leading Group issued, in order to further control the risk from overseas epidemic, according to the development of overseas epidemic situation, Chongqing decided to add eight countries, namely Australia, Malaysia, Greece, Czech, Finland, Qatar, Canada and Saudi Arabia as hard-hit countries, together with the previously announced South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, Spain, Germany, France, the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Austria. The total number of hard-hit countries increased to 24.

From 0:00 on March 21, all the people who came or returned to Chongqing in the past 14 days, who had lived in the above-mentioned 24 hard-hit countries, were subject to undergo concentrated quarantine for 14 days and nucleic acid testing. In the past 14 days, those who have lived in other countries and regions will be undergone concentrated quarantine or home quarantine for 14 days and nucleic acid testing. Chongqing will adjust the list of key countries and regions in a timely and dynamic manner according to the development trend of the global epidemic situation.
