CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, more than 1.6 million jin of late-maturing oranges have been matured in Shimen Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, and orange farmers were busy harvesting the oranges. On the premise of ensuring the safety of epidemic prevention and control, the 11th Shimen Fruit Picking Festival was opened on April 2, and the activity will last until June, during which tourists were mainly encouraged to purchase online or pick on site in an orderly manner.

“From March 20, we started small-scale opening and independent picking. Depending on old customers, we have sold more than 10,000 jin.” Gou Xianshu, head of Tangjiao Citrus Professional Cooperative, said that they were exploring the cooperation mode with local e-commerce, reserving and placing orders online, and delivering fresh fruits within the city through express companies, so as to ensure that fresh fruits can reach the citizens directly from the field.
