2020-04-03 11:38:37

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As the spring blossoms, it’s a good choice to go outdoor and exercise. Now, where can you run to effectively avoid crowding and enjoy beautiful scenery? In order to find a suitable new running place for many runners, the reporter of Chongqing Evening News interviewed three running enthusiasts, who introduced their favorite running places.

Short-distance recommendation

Ms. Tian: Running along the lake in Yihe Park

Location: No.10, Branch 2, Renhe Jixing, Liangjiang New Area

Ms. Tian, who lives in Yubei District, likes to exercise on weekends and has participated in such events as Chongqing International Women’s Half Marathon and Chongqing 100 International Cross-country Challenge.

In Ms. Tian’s mind, the best place to run is Yihe Park: “I’ve been running in Yihe Park recently. It’s a relatively hidden and neglected park. Few runners know about it and it’s convenient to park.” Talking about the features of running in Yihe Park, Ms. Tian said: “First of all, there is a lake where green plants and flowers are planted. Every time I run around the lake (about one kilometer around), I can not only enjoy fresh air, but also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake; secondly, there is a celebrity coffee shop in Yihe Park, where I can change clothes and drink coffee when I’m tired of running.”

Middles-distance recommendation

Mr. Yao: Running and spring outing on Jinhai Avenue

Location: Riverside of Jiangling River, Dazhulin Sub-district, Yubei District

Mr. Yao, who lives in Longfor Jiangyucheng, is keen on running at ordinary times. He will take part in the marathon in the main urban area of Chongqing, Dali 100 Cross-country Race, Yumen Mountain Cross-country Race and other domestic famous races as long as he is not engaged. According to Mr. Yao, Jinhai Bay Riverside Park is suitable for running enthusiasts to take exercise from Jinhai Avenue under Lijia Rail Crossing Bridge. “The length of Jinhai Avenue is more than 10 kilometers, and the whole journey is asphalt road. The sidewalk is also very wide, so it is very comfortable to run. Many roads have not been officially opened to traffic, so it’s very safe to run. It’s more appropriate to run about a distance of one and a half marathon every time.”

Natural river views are indispensable for running on the Binjiang Road. Mr. Yao said that every time he ran, he felt very comfortable: “This section just passes through Jinhai Bay Riverside Park. There are peach and cherry flowers in it. It looks beautiful and the air is good to breathe. If you have time, you can go to the riverbank and paddle. It’s good to bring your family for spring outing.”

Long-distance recommendation

Mr. Luo: Night run along the two rivers and three bridges is good

Location: Jiangbeizui, Jiangbei — Danzishi, Nan’an District — Chaotianmen, Yuzhong District

Mr. Luo, who lives in Luneng Xincheng, Yubei District, is also a running enthusiast. He not only often participates in various marathons in Chongqing, but also successfully completed the Xiamen International Marathon last year.

Because of the characteristics of Chongqing’s mountains and rivers, Mr. Luo and his friends like running around the three bridges (Chaotianmen Bridge, Dongshuimen Bridge, and Qianyumen Bridge) of Liangjiang (Yangtze River and Jialing River) at night: “We generally run from Luneng Bashu Middle School, cross Beibin Road to Chaotianmen Bridge to the International Community in Nan’an District, then run along Nanbin Road to Longmenhao, then cross Dongshuimen Bridge and Qiansimen Bridge, and run back to the Grand Theater at Jiangbeizui. There are fewer cars at night. This route offers the best view of Chongqing at night, about 20 kilometers away.” (Translated by Luo Juan, Fathom Language Limited)
