"After 46 days, I finally can hug you again"

2020-04-08 14:23:41

A welcome ceremony was held at the site.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "When I see my wife, I will give her a big hug!" Ding Daohai, a digestive physician, embraced his newlywed wife Li Jingjing in front of the First People's Hospital of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area. On the morning of April 6, 27 medical staff who were drafted from the hospital to support Hubei Province ended their concentrated recuperation and returned to the hospital officially.

The medical team members and their colleagues hugged each other closely after a long separation.

Around 10:30, "they’re coming!" With a shout of cheers, 27 medics in red emergency suits got off the bus one after another, at that time the applause thundered forth. In the crowd, Li Jingjing, who is not very tall, held a bunch of flowers in her left hand and a mobile phone in her right, standing on tiptoe to look for her husband Ding DaoHai anxiously.

Ding DaoHai's wife prepared apples and flowers for him.

It can be seen that Li Jingjing has dressed up carefully today for the reunion after a long separation, and the flowers in her arms have attracted the attention of the interviewer. "This is what I chose specially, each of which has a significant meaning. The apple in the middle means peace in Chinese since his peace is my greatest happiness." Then, with a slightly shy smile, Li Jingjing pointed at a string of purple flowers. "This is the penstemon, which means love at first sight."

It turned out that Li and Ding were (formerly) classmates of Luzhou Medical College in Sichuan Province. They fell in love at first sight during their graduation season. Then, considering the convenience of taking care of their family in the future, Li gave up her medical career and changed her job. Now she is a film and television practitioner. Since the two were newlywed, they were inseparable just like two peas in a pod. "Never been apart for such a long time. Today is the 45th day. No, it's the 46th day we’ve been apart," said Li. Knowing that her husband was going to support Xiaogan, Hubei Province, Li was deeply worried but also proud. Before Ding’s departure, she hugged him tightly in the hospital. "You must come back safe and sound!" Now, 46 days later, the medical team has successfully completed the task and officially ended the intensive recuperation. The couple finally reunited.

As for what the two most want to do with each other now, Li looked at her husband with love in her eyes: "Shopping, eating, and making delicious dishes for him. He made my dream come true. He is my hero!" Ding said sheepishly, “in fact, it is mutual achievement. She also achieved me. Although she can’t accompany me, she tells me and supervises me to do a good job of protection every day. She also takes care of our family, so that I don't worry about it outside at all. I also need to thank her and want to accompany her!”

There are many touching moments like this in front of the hospital. Hao Dongyang from the Department of Nephrology and Tang Ying from the Department of Endocrinology are a quasi-couple. The two have known each other for six years and have been in love for more than a year. They were originally scheduled to get married on March 29 and everything was ready. However, Hao took the initiative to sign up to support Hubei and they had to postpone the marriage to next year. The young couple looked at each other silently when they finally saw each other, and there is no need to say anything.

Li Xiaofeng's child can’t recognize her since they haven’t seen each other for a long time.

"Hey, I'm mom. Come and look at mom!" Faced with her son's ignorant eyes, Li Xiaofeng, a nurse in the Department of Intensive Medicine, quickly took off her mask. Maybe her son is too young and she has been away for a long time, her 1.5-year-old son had no expression and still didn't call her mother. Li was a little sad, but soon she laughed again: "mom bought you a big airplane, and mom will play with you when we go home!"

The medical staff hugged her long-awaited children.

"Mom, I love you!" Luo Xinyang, holding the sign, rushed to hug his mother Jin Jing as soon as he saw her. In the little boy’s mind, who was just in the second grade of primary school, his mother was the most powerful hero.

Hu Zhong, the leader of the medical team of The First People's Hospital of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area, said that the 27 medic workers from the hospital, along with 3 members from the Ninth People's Hospital of Chongqing, were named as “the second medical group of south-eastern hospitals from Chongqing to support Xiaogan” by the headquarters, who were mainly responsible for the treatment of patients in Southeast branch of Xiaogan Central Hospital. By the end of March 22, the group has received 216 cases in total, including 31 confirmed cases, 212 cured and discharged from hospital, achieving the goal of “zero aggravation, zero death, zero infection and zero return”, fulfilling its mission successfully.

Medical staff and citizens welcome the triumph of the 27 medics assisting Hubei Province.

"When I was 15 years old, I survived from the Wenchuan Earthquake. Now I’ve grown up, and I am no longer the child who is hiding behind everyone for protection. This time I will stand up bravely to protect everyone!" Jiao Zuhui, a Tibetan girl and nurse, said firmly, "although we’ve been back, the global epidemic is still very complex. If the country still needs me, I am bound to set out again!" (Translated by Zeng Chenxi, Fathom Language Limited)
