CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, Ali Local Life Service Company released the 2020 Eleme Blue Riders Survey Report (hereinafter referred to as the Report). According to the Report, due to the special geography of Chongqing, in addition to the common “cavalry” who use electric vehicles instead of walking, there are also a group of “infantries” who use their legs to run and deliver food. The number of infantries ranks first in the cities of China. Among them, the number of infantries in Guanyinqiao, Jiefangbei and Nanping Business Circles in Chongqing has exceeded 100.

More than 10 “infantries” at one station walk at least 30,000 steps a day

“Infantry is a unique form of food delivery based on Chongqing’s special landform and food delivery needs.” Wu Junkai, head of the hummingbird special delivery station in Guanyinqiao, Chongqing, said, “It’s not convenient to park or ride in several business circles in Chongqing, but there are many short-distance order needs. We have arranged “infantries” for them. They usually pick up food and deliver it on foot, mostly for orders with a range of about one kilometer. We have more than 10 member at this station.”

In the rider management platform, some riders are marked as “infantries”, which facilitates the platform’s independent management of “infantry” and overall improves the efficiency of meal delivery.

“At most, we walk 50,000 or 60,000 steps a day, and at least 30,000 or 40,000 steps a day,” said Yuan Yin, an infantry. “We infantry are familiar with the terrain of business circles and the location of various restaurants. They mainly take short-distance orders near the business circles, and most of the customers are office white-collar workers. Although my job is very ordinary, I feel very satisfied to make these busy office workers eat earlier.”

According to Wu Junkai, there are more than 100 “infantries” in the hummingbird special delivery stations of Guanyinqiao, Nanping and Jiefangbei Business Circles in Chongqing. They have become the supplement of “cavalry” in Chongqing, directly improving the efficiency of Chongqing’s Eleme distribution service. (Translated by Luo Juan, Fathom Language Limited)
