CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the first batch of epidemic prevention materials, 150,000 disposable surgical masks, donated by Chongqing to Singapore has been transported to Singapore by air. The second batch of 100,000 masks are in production.

In the donation ceremony, Mr Tan Chee King, the Consul General of the Singapore Consulate-General in Chengdu, said that at a crucial moment in Singapore's fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission, Chongqing has offered strong support and assistance. It proves the sincere friendship between China and Singapore and demonstrates the relationship of sharing weal and woe and helping and supporting each other once again. We believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, Singapore will surely overcome the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Singapore attaches great importance to its relations with Chongqing and is ready to work with Chongqing to push forward the China-Singapore Connectivity Project and exchanges and cooperation in other areas.

It is learned that during the period of Chongqing fighting against COVID-19 epidemic, enterprises like CapitaLand in Singapore provided funds, masks, medical gloves, protective clothing and other important anti-epidemic materials to Chongqing. Singapore Airlines and Pacific Integrated Logistics guarantee the passenger and freight transportation from Chongqing to Singapore.

At present, the epidemic situation in Singapore is severe, so the Chongqing Municipal Government decided to donate 250,000 disposable medical masks to Singapore. The first batch has been transported to Singapore. Meanwhile, companies in Chongqing are stepping up production to produce a second batch of 100,000 disposable medicalmasks.
