CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- 20 tons of loquat are given to honor heroes for expressing concern and greetings. Recently, Hechuan loquat area public brand conference and the departing ceremony of special trucks direct to hospitals was held in Gulou Town, Hechuan District, Chongqing. Hechuan donates 20 tons of loquat to major hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing, Nanjing and Guangzhou by truck delivery.

Gulou Town is a demonstration town of “one town, two villages” in Hechuan rural revitalization, with a good reputation of beautiful countryside in China, loquat hometown in Chongqing. “Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), medical workers have sacrificed individuals for public good and fulfilled their duties. They have built a solid health protection wall for the whole nation with their actions,” said Chen Jiao, the Deputy District Head of Hechuan District People’s Government. Loquat has always been effective in moistening lung, relieving cough, alleviating congestion and resolving phlegm. This donation is hoped to express appreciation for the dedication and perseverance from those most beautiful medical workers. 

With the beginning of this departing ceremony, loaded with 20 tons of loquat, six trucks with a slogan reading “Mountain and river working together, we have nothing to fear” heads for hospitals in Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Chongqing, to give warm greetings for heroes.

It is informed that Hechuan now has 100000-mu loquat planting area and more than 5500 farmers. Hechuan loquat, mainly the variety of “Da wuxing”, has an annual output value reaching 200 million yuan, and is rated as green food and included in the national famous, special, excellent and new agricultural products list.
