CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- “When you stand on the bridge and appreciate the scenery, someone who enjoys the scenery will watch you upstairs.” The mountain city sitting on the river is the veritable bridge capital. Enjoying the scenery on the bridge has become a brand of Chongqing.

According to Chongqing City Construction Investment Group, the Qiansimen Bridge, Dongshuimen Bridge and Chaotianmen Bridge serve as “knots” connecting the core areas of the two rivers and four banks, which will improve the slow-moving system, improve the walking facilities, install the vertical elevators and city balconies, and make you the “most beautiful scenery” when you enjoy the scenery on the bridges.

The Dongshuimen Bridge, Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge and Qiansimen Bridge will all be equipped with vertical elevator projects. The vertical elevator project of Dongshuimen Bridge under construction will be arranged at the bridge heads of the Dongshuimen Bridge. An escalator and a vertical elevator will be set on the Yuzhong District, and a vertical elevator will be built on Nanan District.

The vertical elevator project of Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge to be started is arranged at the bridge heads of the Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, and two elevators will be set at Jiangbei and Nan’an respectively. The elevators in Jiangbei will be set at the pier in Beibin Second Road, to solve the problem of a height difference of about 58 meters. After the completion of the elevators, the original parking lot will be preserved and a U-shaped elevator garden will be formed. There are entrances at both ends of the garden. The two entrances are connected by sidewalk and the elevators. There are pavilions and rest platforms in the garden. The project has completed all preliminary work and is scheduled to be started in August this year.

The Yuzhong side of Qiansimen Bridge is located between Hongyadong and Nanguolijing. Multiple escalators will be set to connect B1, Hongyadong, Binjiang Road, Qiansimen Bridge Deck and Cangbai Road and solve the height difference of about 50 meters. After the completion of the escalator, it is combined with the landscape balcony to facilitate the travel of tourists and relieve the pressure of passenger flow in Hongyadong Scenic Area.

Qiansimen Bridge to have a city landscape balcony

In addition, Qianyemen Bridge will also add a city landscape balcony on the side of the Hongyadong. The standard section of the sidewalk of Qiansimen Bridge is 3 meters. In the direction of Yuzhong near Hongyadong, the sidewalk gradually decreases, and the narrowest part is reduced to 0.85 meters. The terrain between Nanguolijing and Hongyadong is steep and narrow, the environment is cramped and complex, and the landscape of the bridge is not good.

The added city landscape balcony can beautify the bridgehead landscape and provide a great space for tourists to enjoy and relax. The platform is extended to avoid the narrow section of the bridge sidewalk, which is conducive to ensuring the pedestrian’s walking environment and safety.
