"Blooming June" is about to open online

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing's well-known cultural brand, "Blooming June", will start on June 10. This year's "Open June" will take the form of “exhibiting online” and "entering the community" to meet the citizens at "zero distance". Works of nearly 2,000 students from 21 majors will meet the citizens in this way.

The "Blooming June" online exhibition will last from June 10 to July 10.

This year, graduates have paid much more attention to the topics of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and poverty alleviation. For example, the graduate student majoring oil painting named Han Qingyu painted “The Triumph of Spring” which depicted the medical staff who stepped off the plane and triumphed in the spring; the oil painting from Li Peixin named “The Unknown Soldier” selected the backs of a group of medical staff and used the cartoon images such as Mickey Mouse and Bumblebee painted on their protective clothes to express an optimistic and positive mood; Xiao You, a student from Zunyi, Guizhou, used many videos to produce the work named "Isolation Belt", which told the story of his father as a community worker participating in the fight against the epidemic.

Qiao Yunyan, a student majoring in oil painting from Zhongxian County, selected boats, hillsides, fruit trees, etc. on the edge of the Yangtze River to create a group painting named "Hint", which contained 12 oil paintings, showing the surprising changes in her hometown.

Unlike the previous years, "Blooming June" will be transferred from offline to online, from inside to outside of school, forming a new pattern of "online art tour, offline multi-places display", in order to promote more arts into the community and life deeply.

"In recent years, every 'Blooming June' will attract about 300,000 visitors to visit the school, becoming a major cultural event in Chongqing. This year's exhibits come from students from 21 major including more than 1,600 undergraduates, and more than 320 graduate students.
