Affected by the epidemic, the volume of blood donation on the streets of Chongqing has fallen sharply this year. Although there are many caring teams actively organizing voluntary blood donation activities, the amount of blood collected from January to May this year has dropped by 15% compared with that of the same period last year.

Each blood collection and supply institution continuously improves the service level according to the requirements of Chongqing Municipal Health Commission to provide high-quality services for voluntary blood donors. In view of the fact that people cannot gather during the epidemic, the blood collection and supply institutions have launched the “phone booking and door-to-door service” measures while doing the epidemic prevention and control work, providing door-to-door blood donation services for the general public, and promoting the construction of blood donation houses, and launching the “Internet + Voluntary Blood Donation Service”, the nationwide unified electronic blood donation certificate will be launched to fully realize the direct reduction and exemption of clinical blood expenses for voluntary blood donors.

After summarizing work experience and research in recent time, Chongqing officially launched the blood donation service hotline 96969, which will provide 24-hour consultation services, accept and deal with blood donors’ claims, and truly implement the service of blood donors.
