CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As the temperature rises, many citizens complained that it was too hot to wear masks. What issues should be paid attention to in the prevention and control of the epidemic? Chongqing Municipal Health Commission reminded that you need to prepare a mask with you for specific places.

According to Liu Nan, Deputy Director of Chongqing Center for Disease Control and Prevention Institute of Disinfection and Vector Biology Control, Chongqing is a low-risk area at present. You do not need to wear a mask in well-ventilated places with a safe social distance. In some places, you are recommended to keep a mask on hand and wear it when in close contact, in dense crowds and in close contact.

According to Liu Nan, masks mentioned for the general public and people in specific places refer to disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks. No higher-level protective masks are needed. There are four categories of people:

General public ——

There is no need to wear a mask when you are at home, cycling, or driving by yourself. When going outdoor, or to parks and other public places (such as supermarkets, shopping malls, restaurants, etc.), you are recommended to prepare a mask with you and wear it when needed. When you go to public places with poor ventilation such as theaters, Internet cafes, etc. or take elevators and public transport, you should wear a mask.

Personnel in special places ——

Personnel in office spaces, meeting rooms and workshops should ensure ventilation and keep a distance. There is no need to wear a mask.

Service personnel working in public places such as shops, restaurants, public transportation, entrance and exit of a unit or community, etc. need to wear a mask.

On campus, staff on duty, cleaning, canteens, etc. must wear a mask. In kindergarten institutions, children are not recommended to wear masks, but teachers should do. Faculty, staff and students of primary and secondary schools, large and medium-sized colleges and universities prepare should keep a mask with them, and there is no need to wear a mask on campus.

People who go to the hospital for medical treatment, visits or escorts are required to wear masks.

Personnel in specific institutions such as nursing homes and prisons do not need to wear masks, and outsiders and servicemen should wear a mask.

Key personnel ——

Infected cases, asymptomatic infected persons, close contacts, incoming personnel, and those with fever, cough or other symptoms are required to wear surgical masks or respirators of KN95 / N95 or that of grade above without breathing valves.

Isolation personnel at home should wear a disposable medical mask or medical surgical mask, but not when alone.

Patients with severe cardiopulmonary diseases should wear a mask under the guidance of a doctor. Infants under 3 years old do not need to wear a mask.

Occupationally exposed personnel ——

Workers at Entry / Exit ports and those who provide services for isolation personnel should wear a medical surgical mask or protective mask conforming to the grade of KN95/N95.

Medical staff working in general clinics, emergency departments, wards, etc. should wear a medical surgical mask or that of above grade.

Personnel working in fever clinics, wards of COVID-19 patients in designated medical institutions, and ICU, or those conducting epidemiological investigations, laboratory testing, environmental disinfection, and transporting patients should wear a medical protective mask.

Staff engaged in collection of respiratory tract specimens, tracheotomy and intubation of patients with COVID-19 who are prone to aerosols, close-range high-risk operations, should wear hood-type (or full-type) power supply air filter respiratory protectors, or half-face type powered air-filtering breathing protector with goggles or full screen.
