2020-06-29 14:25:32

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The graduation dinner with some people absent and the graduation photo with poor attendance of people... Graduation departure is a common transition in life. Due to the epidemic, the graduation season in 2020 is doomed to be special. Hong Xueming, a postgraduate in Modern History of China Music of School of Music at Southwest University, is one of the graduates of 2020. We recorded her last day on the campus and this special graduation season.

On June 24, Southwest University held its graduation ceremony for the graduates of 2020. This ceremony was different from previous years. Only more than 2,000 graduates, about one sixth of all graduates, attended the ceremony. It is the first online and offline “graduation ceremony” held by Southwest University since its founding.

At the graduation ceremony, students kept a certain distance from each other and all wore masks. Hong Xueming sitting among them had mixed feelings. Hong Xueming is from Wuhu, Anhui Province. She came to Chongqing three years ago and studied in Southwest University. The scenes she met her classmates are still vivid in her mind, while they will hurry off for their own future soon.

Students in the school Hong Xueming belongs to are from all over China. Although they could not get together to take a graduation photo, the composite “family photo” is cute enough. Hong smiled and told the reporter: “Our graduation photo must be the most special. It is also our exclusive memory.”

After the graduation ceremony, the first thing for Hong was to take a group photo with her classmates and friends. These photos recorded academic dress they wore, teaching buildings and their youthful faces. In the future, they will go through many things, but still teenagers when they return.

After the ceremony, Hong took off her academic dress and put on her daily dress. She walked on the campus. Her youthful appearance showed on the water. Walking in the campus she is familiar with, Hong was filled with regrets while looking back on the three years in the campus, “I do not know when I will come back next time.”

Hong thought of the books borrowed from the library were still kept by her, so she hurried to the library. She borrowed countless books here when she was in school, but this one in her hand was the last one she borrowed. Hong said with a smile, "if I had known that, I should have read it more carefully.”

Before leaving her old school, Hong wanted to have a meal in the school cafeteria again. “I will eat more to remember the taste. I must come back to have a meal in the cafeteria again sometime.” Hong cannot hide the sadness when speaking of this.

Before returning to the dormitory, Hong went to the classroom. At this moment, she was the only one in the empty classroom. She told the reporter that when she was in the first year of postgraduate, she could meet her classmates frequently on public classes. During the second year of postgraduate, they were busy with their own projects, so they met each other less. She felt warm when she came back to the classroom now.

When she came back to the dormitory, she was the only one left. They once complained that the dormitory was too small, but now they felt it is not lively enough. Hong will go to the next destination after packing up.

Hong is about to start a new journey after leaving the campus. These graduates of 2020 are special. The experiences they underwent are gifts. In this special graduation season, they have regrets and harvest growth. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
