Datianwan Stadium to be maintained

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the cultural relics construction ceremony of Datianwan Stadium was officially unveiled, which marks the beginning of the “protection and utilization project of Datianwan Stadium”.

Hu Bin, the deputy chief architect of General Research Institute of Architecture & Planning Design Co., Ltd. of Chongqing University, and also the chief designer of this project, said that the “protection and utilization project of Datianwan Stadium” is an important part of the sports facilities construction of Datianwan. He said, “in fact, Datianwan Stadium was renovated as early as 1987, but at that time, it was not rated as a cultural relic protection facility. Now we must completely according to the principles of cultural relic protection construction, including original materials, original process and original technology to repair it. From the surface to the underground, we should evaluate it comprehensively to find out the problem and solve one by one through the advanced technical means.”

On October 28, 2019, Chongqing No. 30 Middle School held its sports meeting here, which was the last one before the closing of Datianwan Stadium.

According to Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau, when the protection and utilization project of Datianwan Stadium is completed, good results in fitness service, function bearing, leisure environment, city image and historical inheritance will achieve. Datianwan Stadium is born for sports. It becomes thick for culture, complete for functions and alive for renovation.
