CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- It’s said that people should eat dumplings in the first ten days of dog days, and noodles in the second ten days of dog days. On July 16, the first day of dog days, staff of the poverty alleviation workshop of Meixin Red Wine Town, Linshi Town, Fuling District boiled a pot of dumplings for tourists for free, and tourists enjoyed dumplings and felt the vibe of solar terms. 

At 12 o’clock of July 16, right about time to have lunch, the freshly-boiled dumplings attracted tourists. Mr. Zhou, a tourist, asked: “How much?” Zhang Juan, staff of the Workshop, answered that “it’s free. We made these dumplings to thanks for people’s support,” as she ladled dumplings and added sauce.

According to Zhang Heng, the person in charge of the Poverty Alleviation Workshop, since last August, over 9 million yuan has been invested to convert unused factory to the Poverty Alleviation Workshop. In the Workshop, there are over 120 production machines and devices, 86 tourism products and 60 employees, profiting over 1 million yuan every month. It’s worth mentioning that the Workshop has preferentially employed 16 persons from the families with state relief card and 3 persons from the families with disabled members. At present, the Workshop has got on the right track. On the first day of dog days, there is a custom of eating dumplings, and the Workshop produces dumplings, so it specially provided dumplings for visitors to taste.
