CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A reporter from Chongqing Morning Post learned from the Chongqing Transport Development Investment Rail Design Institute that the fire shaft of Hongyancun Station of Line 9 Phase I Project (Gaotanyan ~ Xingke Avenue) was designed by Chongqing Transport Investment Rail Design Institute and undertaken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. The fire shaft has been successfully excavated after six months.

Hongyancun Station has a large buried depth, with a maximum buried depth of about 116 meters on the track surface and a maximum buried depth of about 99 meters for the vault. After completion, it will become the largest subway station in the country.

This fire-fighting shaft with a diameter of about 14 meters will be equipped with 4 high-speed elevators. The elevators will lift at a height of about 99m and run at a speed of 2.5 meters per second. It will take you in and out of the rail station in about 40 seconds.

High-speed elevator will take you in and out of a station with a depth of 99 meters in 40 seconds

Hongyancun Station is located at the junction of Yuzhong District and Shapingba District, between Jingwei Avenue and Shabin Road. It is a station connecting the “upper and lower half of the city” in the region. Its “magic” internal traffic pattern creates a unique mode of transportation.

The Entrance and Exit 2 is located in Xiatuwan Road, which can directly connect to Shabin Road. The Entrance and Exit 2 is located in Jingwei Avenue. The vertical height difference between Entrance and Exit 2 and Entrance and Exit 4 is 140 meters, which is very characteristic of Chongqing mountainous area.

In the future, citizens can pass through the station to reach the upper and lower half of the city

According to Zou Guangjiong, Director of the Civil Engineering Department of the Transport Development Rail Design Institute and structural leader of the project, the completed fire shaft will be the first round shaft high-speed elevator group entrance and exit in China.

There are 1 fire elevator and 3 passenger elevators in the shaft, and each elevator can take about 23 people. The elevator has a lifting height of about 99m and runs at a speed of 2.5 meters per second. It will take you in and out of the station in about 40 seconds.

For passengers, what are the advantages of shaft elevators compared to traditional escalators? Zou Guangjiong calculated a time account for the passengers: Taking a height difference of 100 meters as an example, the escalator will be more than 300 meters long and the travel time will be 7-8 minutes. Obviously, the high-speed elevator group “straight up and down” is more efficient.

To overcome three barriers and reach trial operation conditions before next March

At present, the construction of the main body of the Hongyancun Station has been completed, and the station hall and platform construction are underway. It is expected to be completed by the end of September and the conditions for trial operation will be reached in March 2021.

What are the difficulties in the construction of the project?

According to the person in charge of the project design and the relevant person in charge of the construction company China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the construction of this project has overcome three major difficulties.

First, the construction channel of Hongyancun Station is adjacent to Shangtuwan Road and Shabin Road, and located on a steep slope. The available land conditions were very tight and the construction conditions were poor and difficult. This project used the entrance and exit as the station construction channel, which effectively saved the construction period and investment, and solved the problem of tight construction land.

Second, the station has large buried depth, large excavation section, deep shaft excavation, long entrance and exit, and large slope, which makes the design and construction difficult.

Third, the station spans Yuzhong District and Shapingba District, and some of its subsidiary structures are in Jiulongpo District, with many pipe networks, wide property units, and close proximity to residential areas, making coordination difficult. Through careful construction organization and mechanized excavation, the impact on the surrounding environment has been effectively reduced. (Translated by Luo Juan, Fathom Language Limited)
