BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- China's state civil service on Tuesday opened up more than 7,000 vacancies because the first round of the 2020 intake saw no suitable candidates for some positions, according to the State Administration of Civil Service.

Those who passed written exams but could not clear interviews in the first round of the recruitment can apply for other positions in central government agencies and their affiliated institutions. More than 3,200 positions are available in the second round, said a statement released by the administration.

Applicants can apply for positions from July 28 to 30 on the authorized website, and check whether they are selected for interviews on Aug. 3, said the statement.

A total of 965,000 people sat the written exam in November 2019 to compete for 24,000 vacancies, showed figures from the administration.

According to an earlier statement from the administration, candidates are evaluated based on their overall performance, including, written tests, interviews, and a physical examination.

Political integrity is a primary criterion and the majority of the positions require two years of grassroots work experience. Enditem
