CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, because Chongqing issued an orange alert for high temperature, places where can avoid the summer heat have become a public concern. Based on the 100 cool townships (sub-districts) released by Chongqing Meteorological Services, Chongqing Planning and Natural Resources Bureau and Chongqing Geomatics and Remote Sensing Center launched the Map of Chongqing Cool Townships (Sub-districts). Beiping Township, Chengkou

Beiping Township is located in the north of Chengkou County, with the lowest point being 1000 meters above sea level. Due to the high mountains and deep valleys and wide differences in altitude, the climate here is varied, and the scenery of mountains and rivers is beautiful, with superior ecological tourism resources. Beiping Township has a cool climate in summer, and besides enjoying the beautiful scenery, visitors can also feel the local culture of Bashan.

Fairy Mountain Town, Wulong

The town is located in the Wuling Mountains in the east of Chongqing, with an elevation of about 1,200 meters and an average annual temperature of 21℃. Surrounded by mountains and rich in vegetation, the town is a transit point for various attractions such as Three Natural Bridges, Fairy Mountain and Furong Cave in the Wulong Karst Tourism Area, which is one of the famous summer resorts in Chongqing.

Huangshui Town, Shizhu

In the early Qing Dynasty, Huangshui Town was named because that the outflowing stream water turns yellow due to the soil turned from the leaves accumulated in the lush mountains and forests. Huangshui’s terrain is mainly mountainous, with an average altitude of about 1500 meters and an average temperature of 20.1℃ in July. Minorities, mainly Tujia, account for most of the town’s population. Relying on its unique plateau terrain and climate, ethnic customs and sightseeing, forest vacation and other special resources, Huangshui Town has become famous as a summer town with native customs in Chongqing, Hubei and other neighboring provinces and cities.
