CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- You can immerse yourself in the glamour of sports and still enjoy a cool escape from the heat. At 8:00 a.m. on August 23, 2020 Chongqing Shizhu Huangshui “Agritourism Cup” Triathlon Competition will kick off in Huangshui Town, Shizhu County, Chongqing Municipality.

New 10,000-meter run as well as more courses

It is understood that this year’s competition is divided into a full triathlon, a half triathlon, a cycling and running, a fun run and a 10,000-meter run. 

The total distance of the full triathlon will be 51.5km, including 1.5km of swimming, 40km of cycling and 10km of running; the distance of half triathlon will be 25.75km, including 0.75km of swimming, 20km of cycling and 5km of running; the distance of cycling and running will be 25km, including 20km of cycling and 5km of running; the distance of fun run will be 3km; the distance of 10,000-meter run will be 10km.

This is the third year for the event, and it brings new changes for participants, both in terms of events and courses.

In terms of events, the 10,000-meter run is a new addition this year. “In the first half of this year, many runners did not have the opportunity to participate in long-distance races. Therefore, at this time in Huangshui, we also want to give long-distance runners an option to embark on the long-awaited course while traveling to avoid the summer heat.” The head of the event said.

The 3-kilometer fun run will also be a great opportunity for people who are taking a break from the summer heat in Huangshui to experience the charm of sports and get in touch with nature. All finishers will receive a medal.

In addition, the race route is different this year. Participants will start at Taiyang Lake, pass through Huangshui Town, and then take to the road around the Lake, which is almost double the length of last year’s, allowing participants to admire a richer variety of scenery and have a better experience along the race route.
