CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When the night falls, what will these familiar science and technology museums present in a different way? 2020 Chongqing National Science Week is coming up. From August 20 to 28, Chongqing Science and Technology Museum, Chongqing Natural History Museum, and Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum will be open to the public till night on selected dates, with a variety of interactive activities. The public will have a colorful “Science Night” in a fun and educational way. 

At 19:00-21:00 of August 20, the “Wonderful Night at the Science & Technology Museum” will be held at Chongqing Science and Technology Museum. More than 20,000 square meters of exhibition halls and 400 exhibits will be open to you at night. You can choose from a variety of parent-child science activities, including making a “Jade Rabbit Lunar Rover”, enjoying a holographic projection screen, exploring the takeoff and landing of an aircraft carrier, playing with advanced topology, and “Science at Home”.

At 18:30-21:00 of August 21, Chongqing Natural History Museum will hold a “Night Journey to the Jurassic” activity. The public can follow the interpreter to visit the special exhibition halls and unveil the mysteries of dinosaurs and wild animals and plants of different continents through interesting interactions. After participating in the “Mini-Classroom of Natural History Museum”, the public will learn more about the mysteries of natural science by listening to the science stories of several tutors. The public can participate in interactive quizzes after the class and win exquisite gifts. The public are able to visit the handicraft activity area for a fun science activity “Little Paleontologist” and experience the charm of digging and mounting paleontological fossils. At 19:30-21:00 of August 28, Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum will hold a special exhibition “In Search of El Dorado: Exploring the Mystery of Andean Civilization and Feeling the Charm of Exotic Cultures”, featuring 157 sets of precious cultural relics selected from 11 archaeological museums in Peru. Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum is collecting 50 groups of families online to participate in the Andean Civilization craft activity. These families will gain insight into the characteristics and meaning of different periods of civilizations in the South American through the production of emblematic prints and music boxes of selected artifacts from the Andean Civilization.

At the event, Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum will not only showcase the distinctive costumes and music of South America through reality show, but also the Chinese costumes and rituals of the Han in different periods, which allows the audience to immerse themselves in the diverse charm of the culture.
