CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The water levels of Yangtze and Jialing River in Chongqing section have risen due to flood passes through the main urban areas of Chongqing, and some of the transformers located along the rivers managed by Urban Lighting Management Administration of Chongqing are seriously threatened by the flooding. As a precautionary measure, the Urban Lighting Management Administration of Chongqing has been shutting down the relevant transformers on August 18.

As a result of the transformer outage, some road lamps could not be illuminated, including the overall power outage of No. 3 box transformer substation of road lamps and No. 2 box transformer substation of lightings in Jiabin Road, which affected the road lamps on the road (section from No. 1 Bridge to Zengjiayan); the power outage of all road lamps switch boxes along Nanbin Road, resulting in the failure to illuminate the road lamps along the road (section from Yangtze River Bridge to Landmark Riverside Park); the power outage to No. 2 Distributing Substation on Changbin Road, resulting in the failure to illuminate approximately 1.4 kilometers of 150 road lamps on the road (section from under the Yangtze River Bridge to Chuqimen).

The Urban Lighting Management Administration of Chongqing will conduct professional pre-testing of transformers in the above-mentioned sections in time after the passage of floods of the Yangtze and Jialing River, and restore the normal operation of lighting facilities after the power transmission standard is reached. During the outage of transformers, pedestrians and vehicles passing through the above roads at night should be aware of safety and comply with the site traffic management regulations of the relevant departments.
