CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Introducing 50g noodle serving, offering small servings and environmentally friendly packaging service… Recently, the Chongqing Noodle Restaurants Association issued an initiative to the 100,000 noodle practitioners in the city and members of the association to conserve food and oppose waste in noodle industry.

“We’ve recently introduced small servings so that you can order however you need to avoid waste.” At noon on August 18, the staff at Yuwei Yomian Restaurant, located in Shangding Enterprise Park, introduced the menu to office workers who came to eat. At the same time, the restaurant also launched 50g noodle serving and put up posters and initiatives in the prominent position inside and outside the store, calling on the public to “eat in a civilized manner to eliminate waste”.

Small servings launched by the noodle restaurant

Yang Sichun, Vice Chairman of Chongqing Noodle Restaurants Association, introduced that it is a demonstration restaurant in response to the call for food conservation by the association. It has implemented food savings by introducing initiatives such as “50g noodle serving” and “small servings”. Chongqing Noodle Restaurants Association also issued an initiative to the 100,000 noodle practitioners in the city and members of the association.

According to the initiative, noodle enterprises in Chongqing should set up relevant signage and ordering tips as well as public chopsticks and spoons to carry out “Clear Your Plate Campaign”; at the same time, Chongqing Noodle Restaurants Association will go deep into member enterprises to guide noodle enterprises and restaurants to carry out food savings, including the rational use of raw materials, reducing food waste, improving the using efficiency of water, electricity and gas and taking food savings as an important measure to improve the management level of them. 

In addition, Chongqing Noodle Restaurants Association also guides noodle enterprises to set up reasonable menus, encourages them to provide affordable services such as small servings and single serving, and provides environmentally friendly packing services, thereby launching a city-wide demonstration of noodle services and setting a typical example of food savings.
