CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- We’ve recently found a super nice place to enjoy a good weekend. If you haven’t made plans this weekend, check out our recommendation and go there!
Qianjiang, a low-key and veiled place
With beautiful scenery of Chongqing
What is in your mind when you think of Qianjiang? Is it Qianjiang Chicken Giblets? In fact, Qianjiang is a treasure place of so many fun scenic spots to visit that it’s worth recommending!
Zhuoshui Ancient Town
Zhuoshui Ancient Town is a thousand-year town with a collection of Tujia stilted buildings, water transport wharf and commercial and trading marketplaces. The history is long and the scenery is superb. You can take many beautiful photos here. It is cozy to go for a stroll through the ancient town along the scenic Tangyan River.
World’s top wind-rain lounge bridge
With a length of 658 meters, the bridge focuses on drawing on and inheriting the regional cultural characteristics of Tujia people. The body is a purely wooden structure with mortise and tenon joints interspersed between the building materials. It is a prominent representative of the architectural landscape of China’s ethnic minorities, and it is an example for China’s lounge bridge culture.
Balahu
Qianjiang’s Balahu is known as the first canyon city in Asia and is the only tourism brand in China named after the native language of Tujia.
The peaks and mountains on both sides of the Balahu are hauntingly beautiful, presenting a typical karst landscape of southwest China. More than 40 peculiar conglomerate caves of superior quality are rarely found in the world, and the constant temperature inside the cave is 18°C.
Puhua Underground River
It is mainly composed of red cave, underground river and natural bridges, integrating river, bridge, gorge and cave into one. It is one of the typical representatives of Chinese karst cave wonders. The most peculiar view is “Eyes of Heaven”, which runs down the underground river with three natural stone bridges of about the same width.
In the middle of the three bridges are two oval funnels, both of which are about 100 meters high. Combined with the second bridge as the nose beam, it forms an extremely rare landscape of Eyes of Heaven.
If you don’t eat these
you’ve come to Qianjiang for nothing
It's said that Chongqing is a city of fine food, and Qianjiang is even more of a culinary powerhouse!
Qianjiang Chicken Giblets
It is generally admitted that Qianjiang Chicken Giblets is the sign of Qianjiang. Thanks to the great invention, foodies surrender to a pot of spicy and delicious chicken giblets. And the appetizing pickled radish is tasty. No reason is needed for loving Qianjiang!
Qianjiang rice tofu
The tender, spicy and sour rice tofu is also a favorite of many people.
Different condiments such as salted turnips, salted vegetables, fried soybeans, fried peanuts and green onions are placed on the rice tofu with the sauce... It is really difficult to describe the out-of-the-world food—Just eat it.
Sour meat
Qianjiang’s sour meat is absolutely the best way to cook pork. It is slightly sour after marinating.
In fact, when it comes to Qianjiang cuisine, there are many more. Stone grinded tofu dregs, Dingguan (a kind of cauldron) rice, pickled pepper, fried pepper, beef jerky, dried beef, smoked beef and other products are also well known throughout China, which are regarded as “a must-eat food in Qianjiang” by many tourists.
