CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In hot summer, Chongqing people may feel cooler when they see bamboo seas. This time, we will recommend several famous bamboo seas in Chongqing, which are not only cool in summer, but also photogenic!

Baiyun Bamboo Sea

Deep in the Jinyun Mountain of Beibei, there is a place called Baiyun Bamboo Sea. Located in Jinyun Mountain, Baiyun Village, with Xizhao Peak at its back, it was named after Baiyun Temple. The bamboo sea is in Jinyun Mountain Reserve, which is why some people also call it Jinyun Bamboo Sea.

Baiyun Bamboo Sea is 600-700 meters above sea level, with a width of 500-1500 meters, covering an area of 4153 mu, which is the most concentrated place of bamboo growth in Jinyun Mountain, with over 20 varieties.

There are also many attractions around Baiyun Bamboo Sea, such as Baiyun Temple, the Thousand-Year-Old Pine, Jinyun Ancient Path, Phyllostachys Nigra, High Guanyin on the cliff, Stalagmites, Ox-heart Stone, Fish Stone, and Stone Boat. The scenery shifts with the steps. You can feel the vibe that “the mountain shows its different features in different levels near and far”.

Baili Bamboo Sea

Baili Bamboo Sea is a municipal-level scenic area located in the northwest of Liangping County. Baili Bamboo Sea has 140,000 mu of bamboo forest and 37 varieties of bamboo, covering an area of 119 square kilometers, which is the biggest bamboo sea in Bayu and is known as “Bamboo Museum”.

There are more than 50 attractions in Baili Bamboo Sea Scenic Area, including Mingyue Lake, Baizhu Garden, Guanyindong, Tianxingtang, Zhufeng Tianchi, Little Mount Emei, and Hulizui. The scenic bamboo forest is dense and patchwork; the scenery is diverse and gorgeous. Looking skyward from the bottom perspective of the bamboo forest, the dense green bamboo forest is inspiring.

Tea Mountain Bamboo Forest

The scenic Tea Mountain Bamboo Forest National Forest Park was once named “Ji Mountain” by Zhuge Liang and was called “the most hidden mountain in the world”. Located 2 km north of Yongchuan District urban area, it covers an area of 116 square kilometers and has 20,000 mu of large tea plantations and 50,000 mu of bamboo forest, which forms a rare symbiotic landscape of tea and bamboo in China and even in the world. 

The forest coverage rate is as high as 97%, and the density of negative oxygen ion reaches 20,000 per cubic centimeter, which is worthy of the title of “natural oxygen bar”. Tea Mountain Bamboo Forest is as popular among tourists as Shisun Mountain of Yongchuan. The latter is famous for being the place where Iron Crutch Li became an immortal.

Nanzhushan Bamboo Sea

Nanzhushan is located northeast of Nanchuan City of Chongqing. The park is 20 kilometers away from the downtown of Nanchuan. It has been hailed as a provincial-level forest park with great development value by experts at home and abroad and as a huge natural air conditioner by Chongqing natives.

The park, with more than 4,000 people visiting on weekends, is about 6 degrees Celsius cooler than the county and even cooler at night, making it a good place to beat the heat.

The park has tourist facilities such as the forest sea, Baihua Garden, an Olive Garden, Zoo, a bamboo sea, a bamboo sea resort, a small artificial lake and a resting pavilion. With hundreds of species of flowers and plants, the park is an ideal destination for tourism, sightseeing, summer vacation and health care in Chongqing.
