CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first consular officer of Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Chongqing, Mr. Dmitry Emelyanov, officially takes office to start his work.

The reporter learned from the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus reached an agreement on the establishment of the Consulate General of Belarus in Chongqing. In consultation with Belarus, the Consulate General was originally planned to be opened at the beginning of this year, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus officially appointed Mr. Dmitry Emelyanov as the first consular officer of the Consulate General of Belarus in Chongqing, exercising the function of Acting Consul General.

Mr. Dmitry Emelyanov arrived in Beijing on August 8, and finished 14 days of medical observation there on August 24. After reporting to the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing, he immediately came to Chongqing to start his work. It is understood that the Consulate General of the Repulic of Belarus in Chongqing intends to move into the Chongqing Jiefangbei World Financial Centre and is currently fulfilling the relevant procedures.
