CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- During this summer vacation rush, Jiangbei International Airport embraced a total of 54,085 flights, 7.31 million inbound and outbound passengers, and 66,000 tons of cargo. Among them, the passenger throughput of Jiangbei International Airport reached 141,900 on August 16, which was the single-day passenger flow peak of this summer vacation rush and also the highest record since the resumption of work and production this year.

During this summer vacation rush, tour of highland, grassland and seaside has become the main choice of the public. The seaside is still the most popular tourist spot for Chongqing citizens. According to statistics, the number of passengers travelling to popular seaside cities such as Sanya and Qingdao from Chongqing has increased by more than 30% year-on-year during the summer vacation rush. In order to better ensure passengers’ travel, Jiangbei International Airport has resumed flights from Chongqing to Jiuzhaigou and increased the number of flights from Chongqing to Sanya, Nyingchi, Daocheng, Hohhot, Qingdao and other major tourist cities. In addition, since the overall development of Chongqing tourism, Chongqing has become a popular choice for domestic travelers, with Shanghai, Hangzhou and other east China cities being important sources of passengers taking flights to Chongqing.
